I had a revised operation that required the mesh to be removed , it was 2 months ago from today’s date . My doctor said it would be 3-6 months until fully healed , my question is does the pain ever stop ? or am i stuck with pain for the rest of my life ?

I agree more info is needed. Did you have open removal? If so after removal was your hernia repaired by a pure tissue repair or mesh inserted?
    were any nerves cut/ressected?
    Did you have lapro removal?
that being said open removal form my personal experience and also speaking and hearing from others is a much more invasive surgery-it is often 3 surgeries wrapped into one :mesh remkvak, repair and neurectomies.
lastly a surgeon once explained to me that the beaming process form mesh removal is not a linear process like so many other types of surgery -you don’t necessarily get better day by day. It’s more like you may get better in multi month cycles and there can be days far into the healing process that take you right back to the first few days.
But best of you can provide more details

Two months isn’t really a long period of time when considering that you are recovering from a major surgery. Realistically speaking, mesh removal will not instantly cure all pain especially when the mesh was probably causing damage to your nerves and tissue and an inflammatory response in your body the entire time. Most major surgeries take about 6 months to a year to fully heal from, sometimes even longer. If you are seeing gradual improvement I wouldn’t worry, but that being said you can always ask your surgeon what he or she thinks.

I assume that your question is more of a rhetorical statement, but some details might let people offer some advice.

The type of mesh that was removed, the method of removal, were any nerves cut, when is the pain felt, etc.

There a few counterintuitive things I discovered about healing from mesh removal surgery. Like being more active when pain does not diminish, if the pain is constant while inactive.

    Good luck. Supply some details.
