    Hi fellow hernia sufferers,
l have just been diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia and l am glad l found this great forum.
It already gave me a lot of information about the condition.
l wondered if there is an area on the forum that describes the recovery progression after non mesh surgeries of the members who underwent this procedure? Thank you.

    Hi Dill,
Back to work in 5 days? Wow! That is soon! Where was the surgery done? Was this a direct or indirect inguinal hernia?

I had left inguinal open no mesh surgery last Wednesday. So far, so good. Had the 72 hour nerve block and have been able to manage pain with tylenol and some natural remedies. I rested a lot, but went back to work (not physical labor work) today, five days later. Felt comfortable driving on day 3. Used. lots of ice packs. Still cautious about a lot of thing–not lifting, etc.

    Hi all,
That is quite a detailed report on Dog’s post-up recovery. I wonder if there are other non-mesh hernia repair patients that have similar or different experiences.

I am curious to hear more on recovery of hernia surgeries that are non mesh and which non mesh repair techniques have been proven to be the most successful.

Anybody has some insight on this?

Read dog’s posts Sportster. Much has already been discussed. dog went into great depth on all of the repair methods before he made a choice.

I am sorry to hear about your ongoing pain. I hope you will recover and perhaps find a surgeon who can help you further.

I had a right ilioinguinal hernia repair with mesh almost 15 years ago and my life has never been the same. Go the no mesh route at all costs would be my recommendation

I’m on my 20th day post nonmesh surgery. I was able to walk down stairs on the 3rd day and was off pain meds the next day. Of course getting up from bed was always a painful struggle (had to get up with my left side of the body using my left elbow to avoid pressuring the right side), had constant sharp pain in the operated area in the first week but is gone now. Absolutely try avoid sneezing because I had one and it fucking hurts like hell like somebody punched you in the groin area and the pain lingers for so long that I had to lay down and call it a day. Right now there’s still swelling in the area but is getting better as time goes.
