After weeks of pain, I finally had an ultra sound scan today, it showed 2 bigger hernias one seemed to have fluid around it, the other is showing the bowel trying to push through, I’m not due to see my consultant till next month, but I’m hoping to see my Gp tomorrow and she can speed things up for me, the worry here is that it will strangle, I’ve had a no mesh repair twice now, the thought of more surgery is alarming, why does this keep happening and how can I avoid it happening again.

My tummy is very itchy is this normal, and I feel quite nauseated today, my tummy is protruding, I’m struggling to do my job, and this is now massively affecting my day to day life.

Thank you both so much for your replies.
I saw my gp last week and she was oh you’ve pulled a muscle.. I can’t feel anything.. But said she could feel a gap, and to come back if no better, I’ve been in pain ever since and I’ve another appointment this afternoon.
I was told after the birth of my daughter 20 years ago that my gap hadn’t closed so was sent for physio, I was told there was an improvement but wasent fully closed..
Is this the diastis recti you mention, as nobody has mentioned this at the time of my last hernia repairs.
How is this detected, will a scan show it or is it a physical examination?
After 2 repairs and thinking I was pain free as you can imagine I’m quite devastated at having more surgery, but the options either way are pain..
My recovery last time took weeks, the scar is quite big..
And it bulges, I feel if I was given a scan it would show more hernias, and I would be listened to, I know my body now, I feel nausea and back pain also.
But with Christmas fast approaching I’m looking at a long wait to be seen.
Thank you once again, I’m looking at my 3rd year of this now, I just don’t know what’s best anymore
