Pinto I meant no offense to the great Dr Kang. But that was pretty much my return message. It just didnt give me a warm fuzzy. No discussion of how they have experience with this etc. You must have been disconcerted by your near immediate recurrance. It really is the only real blemish on the kang record though watchful cites a bunch of folks waiting for recurrant repairs. Why do you think you recurred? Was it Dr Kang’s fault in any way? What did he say the reason was. The traffic on here indicates you were at least moderately upset at the time.

Gi/Pinto thanks. Pinto yes stephen was very responsive. But it was kind of a simple response. Kang great come to kang he fix you. Watchful bailed on kang because he read about recurrances. You yourself had a recurrance from kang. If he is so great – why did you have an immediate recurrance? No offense intended. Just trying to understand. It seems like there are really no good answers.

Pinto thanks for posting this. Newbies need to know that lap mesh is their worst option. Watchful wrote that it struck him as highly invasive and dangerous. Not sure why I fell for it. It was promoted as the new way. Doctor told me i would be back in the gym in a week with little surgical pain or complications. Chuck NFG Good Intentions and so many others will testify they were destroyed by lap.

Thanks Chuck. I went to Yunis because he had a lot of good reviews. Surgery was a little over 3 hours but he got all the mesh out. He said I would have chronic testicular pain that has not materialized. But I have other issues. How are you doing today? I think you are too hard on Good Intentions – he provides a lot of information here. Though was hoping to see him comment on his current status. Are you back in the gym GI?

Similar stories yes. But sorry to disappoint. Sadly there are many double meshed victims out there. There is a group of about 1o guys all lap double mesh who are in the same mess. I cant believe Dr. Twofigh continues to promote lap mesh surgery. Good Intentions – how are you progressing? Do you still have pain? Is your life limited in any way?

Looked at the issue hard. Had one hernia indirect on left. Surgeon found another hernia on the other side. Ultrasound confirmed it though no bulge. The studies appeared to say lap posed least risk of chronic pain. No surgical pain quick return to work. Most of the “studies” didnt say want the doctors told me. Thought it made sense to knock out two hernias in one surgery. Dumb. But there are no good answers here. Seems like lots of pain with the gold standard Shouldice. Desarda seems to be hit or miss and recurrances. Desarda skewing his studies. I never expected so much dishonesty about a medical procedure. Lap seemed to be what most docs recommended. Hope you survived your removal with litte damage

Good Intentions thanks so much. Kang does seem to be the safest bet. The thread you posted seemed to suggest that Bassini was associated with chronic pain. In another post Chuck taylor advises that he spoke with a forum authority who recommended Bassini as least invasive. But it seems Kang knows the whole waterfront of repairs and has developed a minimally invasive repair that is not associated with chronic pain. I feel like a real dope for agreeing to laproscopic sugery. It was presented as the safest option for recurrance and chronic pain. But it appears it is the exact opposite. Fortunately all the mesh is out for me -but i am still dealing with pain. This whole area is such a minefield – I wonder if anyone gets a good result.

Good Intentions I have been reading your posts with interest. I see that you had lap removal both sides? Guessing you have not had a recurrance. Who do you plan to see if you get a recurrant hernia? Appreciate all your learned posts.

I dont want to put mesh back in but some say lichtenstein done by a very experienced surgeon may be the safest option
