  Inguinal hernia surgery & Redundant Colon

  Hi,
  I am 55 years old and about 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a left inguinal hernia which the surgeon says now requires surgery.
  
  After a colonoscopy I was also diagnosed with Redundant Colon and I wonder if this pathology could be a contraindication to inguinal hernia surgery?

  Not related.

  Many have redundant colon because of chronic constipation. If you have constipation, treat it. It’s a major reason for hernia exacerbations.

  I’ve googled redundant colon which means, I believe, it’s long, can see no mention of hernia as a consequence. At least it’s not one of the main ones that’s mentioned. Best of luck
