Failed tissue repair, next steps.
Hello, I am hoping a physician or someone very knowledgeable can answer my question very soon. I have noticed some questions do not get answered on this forum, and so I am hoping an empathetic person can help me out on this forum ASAP.
Suppose I have a non mesh Inguinal hernia surgery (Meaning an open tissue repair) This is my candidate pool (Kang, Towfigh, Yunis, or possibly someone else). Suppose for some reason my tissue repair fails 5 years from now. If it failed would I then have the option of a mesh repair, such as the robotic repair through my belly button? Or could the failed tissue repair be so devastating that it would prevent me from getting a hernia repair using Mesh?
Again, someone please I am asking for your help. If you could answer my question I would so appreciate it. Thank you.

One of the “selling” points of the Shouldice clinic was, when I enquired about that, they said you can always have a mesh repair if it fails. So hopefully the answer is correct. Especially hope so for jkt2 sake.

I am dealing with this exact issue now and am in constant pain. Had a tissue repair from Yunis 14 months ago. Just had an MRI which showed I still had a hernia, so I will keep you posted as to what my options are now ☹️
