Reoccuring hernia within 3 months
In august 2017 i had bilateral hernia surgery in germany. The method used was the shouldice method without cutting the cremester muscle and having absorbable sutures. Both my hernias were indirect and very small in size that it was not noticeable on the skin. I was told by the surgeon that they were easily repairable without the use of mesh.
After two months i had complications and had realised that both sides had reoccured. So in december 2017 the surgeon decided to reoperate and stated to me he has put a mesh in on the right side and for the left just stitched the slight little hole. For the next few weeks i was very bad and constantly needed local anasthesia to help me continue my life. Few months on my left side has opened again and myright side is constantly burning and scratching me from inside causing me a huge amount of pain. Again my hernia is not visible and very small as i have to push for it to come through. However this is causing me a huge amount of pain. I believe i caused my firrst hernias by doing too much heavy work both in the gym and as an occupation whilst also playing football. Last month i decided to contact the shouldice clinic to ask for some advise and schedule emergency surgery. They were shocked to hear that absorbable sutures were used and told me that i had to wait at least a year to have successful surgery and they will not operate before that. Is this true? What can i do for the pain? And also would i be suitable with the very small hernias although they are reoccurring? ( i belive it reoccurred due to the absorbale sutures). And lastly would cutting the cremester muscle affect sexual function? I heard it was necessary for a successful surgery.
Will greatly appreciate a reponse. Thanks
