I was/am in the same situation with a small hernia on my right side that is slightly symptomatic (only when running/walking long distances). I was about to schedule a surgery but decided against it following Dr. Conze’s advise and I don’t regret it. Since the cancelled surgery, which was 4 months ago, that hernia has bothered me maybe two or three times.

What’s fascinating to me is that there are basically no attempts at resistance and hardly any awareness of this economisation of medicince outside the US. Which is ironic considering that’s where the corporations throwing this shit onto the market are located.
Also for hernias specifically I think the fact that they mostly affect men leads to less resistance since men complaining about this are shut down with “man up” and tend to group together less than women. Look at the success of the campaign against vaginal mesh and compare that to the general ignorance about hernia mesh and the prevalence of the medical industry. Now look at how common hernias are compared to pelvic issues in women that warrant mesh.
It’s completely absurd but by far not the only thing going wrong in the world.

Although the first one was direct and this one is indirect. -
I haven’t read about any mesh removal surgeon in France on here. Although there might be of course.
The closest ones I know are Dr. Muschaweck and Dr. Conze in Germany and, as Tilda said, Dr. Slooter -
quote lbpd16:simple answer. go to a no mesh surgeon
Seconded.
DO NOT rush this.
If you have to travel to find a good surgeon, do it. -
quote John Fortem:There are indeed people who specialize in removal of such meshes. You can look for places or doctors that do the mesh free repairs. They should be able to remove the mesh and repair the hernia without using a mesh.
This thread was posted earlier:

One doctor named Ulrike Muschaweck is mentioned in it.
Thank you. If anyone else has recommendations, feel free to post them.
