Mark H, there are one or two NHS surgeons who do tissue in the UK…
Duncan Light Desarda, Northumberland tynemouth area. Hasn’t done loads but feedback is good.
The war doctor London. I can’t remember his name but I’ll check in a minute. Believe Shouldice and by all accounts highly respected..He did Julia Bradburys surgery.
My partners in South Yorkshire so I do get north a bit. Not Bolton per se but have been near clitheroe and downham village. Nice pub, aspinall arms round there. And the dales I like!
My nhs was ultrasound that said direct but all 3 consultants I’ve seen have said indirect by touch and inspection so no idea really which I have or if it’s pantaloon.

I’m 61 !
What part of UK. I’m in South London.
Dr Kang is on my list. I have the Germans too. I hate flying. -
Just put of interest, do you know what the cost is? I’m in UK too.
Whilst search insurance I saw the NHS do s2 for treatment abroad, EU, I thought it was all ended with brexit. I know it doesn’t apply to Korea though

You’re right! Just tried it. It dyws say “coming soon” though.
Is it inguinal. Direct or indirect?

These any good? There must be insurance as some people from UK have had Dr Kang repairs. Faith is one i remember.
Please can you let us know how you get on and good luck.
Has Stephen said what insurance you might need?

Thanks Ivan. Dr Kang with another satisfied patient.
What was the reason for staying off pain killers?
The pain sounds terrible.

Person who did the hernia Bible site did say losing weight helped relieve his symptoms and also after defecating his hernia virtually disappeared, I’ve noticed mine does. You may be onto something.
Others have said avoiding food that causes gas helps too.
With all the risks of hernia surgery itself plus the risks of anaesthetic I think Watchful waiting is certainly a good option.

Hello Lucas
I haven’t had my hernia repaired so don’t have personal experience of mesh or its removal but I do look at some hernia groups on Facebook.
One, hernia mesh hurts too, has a lot of posts from people who have had mesh taken out. You could look at that group if you are on Facebook.
Dr Krpata gets a lot of mentions and I think a recent person had or is having removal by Dr Billing I think.
Have a look it may be helpful

Add in bph and being male and it increases more!

“In terms of anesthetic technique and the risk of POUR: spinal is greater than epidural is higher than general anesthesia”. Are any of those local?

MemberAugust 22, 2023 at 1:58 pm in reply to: Anaesthetic and urinary retention especially with bphI know! I thought that too. Most inappropriate. I think there are others too in a similar manner that don’t match what they describe.
