    Had surgery!

Thank you so much for your response.

I know I have the diastasis but that was one of my questions if it didn’t show on the CT scan or MRI or during the surgery is that something I can still fix? It doesn’t cause pain but instability, prolapse and it caused the hernia. Fixing the hernia which was “tiny” immediately relieved excruciating pressure and pain in my abdomen and pelvis. I can stand a little longer now but if I stand too long my abs pull apart my belly button stretches into a horizontal line and I feel a “tearing” at my hernia site and prolapse/ pressure in the gap where my vagina rectum and pelvic floor meet…it actually starts to prolapse down and i have to shuffle walk. All different but connected problems.

I can’t use my abs at all I use my arms to roll over in bed etc…

I’m frustrated but hopeful because of how much hernia surgery helped. I didn’t even need pain meds my hernia hurt more than surgery did.

Laparoscopic diastasis surgery? Tummy tuck? Too dangerous after just having surgery? Just want to be able to walk again.

    Upstate ny surgeon

Your diagnosis to my previous post was spot on. To have someone intelligently respond to my symptoms and mri is like the sky clearing! To go to dr after dr and just be prescribed meds and sent home gets hard but I’m staying strong.

thank you so much for your response above.

I am so thankful for your time. I have such clear signs of tears/hernias it’s so frustrating having to “convince” doctors. Especially when my pain is so bad.

I will contact that surgeon today.

    Hiatal/umbilical

Thank you so much for checking in!!

    You are beyond kind.

    I just posted an update.

Went to schwaitzberg…its 6 hrs for me in a car on mattress…not easy.

He doesn’t believe my pain could come from hernia/and that I have other hernias because they didn’t show on mri.
But!! He scheduled surgery laparoscopic will repair umbilical and look for others.

Now bloodwork shows possible endocrine problems so he canceled surgery and making me see endocrinologist to treat with medicine.

Beyond frustrating. The pain is getting worse. I can’t stand up. I can feel exactly where hernias/tears are. Medicine can not fix this. Even worse I feel the hernias/tears are making me sick. /harboring bacteria.

I sat in his office begging for help. Ob surgeon yelled at me!! Told me I need physical therapy and pain meds. She told me unless it shows on a scan, there’s no tears, not true! Thankfully I have the mri that shows umbilical hernia.

I ripped when I gave birth, the tear is still there. I know my body and what I feel. If I separate my legs I rip. I can’t bend over lift things even sit down.

    My life has stopped.

Any referrals I’m all ears. I will keep going until I get surgery.

I thank god for your knowledge about women and hernias. You are a blessing.
