@good-intentions Ok so here it goes.. This afternoon I had my zoom call with dr.billings and it was great. He reviewed the recent operative report and said he can perform revision surgery no problem. This time we are taking a different approach, he advised that IF I have a recurrence when he takes a look, he will perform a repair via open incision and sow me up. He advised that he has kinda changed his view on how Lap Surgery’s are currently being performed and the efficacy of the repair/ rate of recurrence when not using mesh. So we went over a few scenarios. IF I don’t have a recurrence but turns out scar tissue is what is causing the problem, he will fix it. He will be doing a bilateral revision procedure including my umbilical discomforts I have been complaining about since 2022. Note that this will be my 4th surgery and I pray to god is my last. I can’t explain it but there is such a comfort that I get when speaking with Dr.Billings, this has never happened with anyone else. He truly cares bro, is the best way I an put it. I advised him on how other surgeons quickly push us onto Pain management once they are done with us and he agreed that its all bull crap. Nerve shots is not going to resolve a long term problem, its a placebo effect as we put it. I could not agree more. So I will be scheduling to fly back to Seattle some time in mid July.

Specially when is not a pinching feeling or anything like that. I am guessing an ultrasound would be good because they make you push as they perform it.

Forgot to add, thanks to @good-intentions for recommending Dr.Billings to me 🙂

I had my mesh removed by Dr.Peter Billings here in Kirkland,WA. I am actually here in a Hotel recovering before flying back home. Will be coming back in June to remove the right side since my situation is bilaterial inguinal. Apparently my left side mesh was very complicated to remove so doctor did not have enough time to do both sides on same day.

Just had my hernia mesh removed on left side Dr.Peter Billings here in Kirkland,WA. Same surgeon who did it for @good-intentions . We was supposed to remove both sides but looks like my left was very complex and had moved down to Testicle so no time to do right side. I plan on coming back and remove it within 6 months. I must say, great experience and highly recommend Dr.billings and the Evergreen Hospital.

@good-intentions thanks, will ask Billing on our next meeting before surgery.
-
How soon after surgery do you think is safe to fly back? I plan to stay up there for 3 days post Op.
-
I wonder if hernia mesh is removed laparoscopically, and tissue repair is to be done, will the tissue repair be done laparoscopically or do you have to have an open surgery during same time?

@good-intentions can you please shoot me an email? Need to ask you something privately if you don’t mind.

In my case I don’t feel pulling on my inguinal area, I do feel it on my umbilical where I had a repair done with sutures same day mesh was implanted for inguinal crap. What I feel is actually pushing when I sit. Feels like if a balloon wanted to pop out of my pelvic area where mesh was. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, nevertheless I am flying back to Seattle mid July to have revision surgery and sort out wtf is going on with me. Surgeons are too quick to send you to pain management for some shots that will do absolutely nothing once they have made their money.

@chucktaylor Sent you DM brother.

thanks bro, Im actually talking to Dr.Billings as I mentioned for possible revision surgery. My left side started acting up and CT scan apparently did not find any recurrence. However as I sit here talking to you, I feel pressure on left inguinal side and pain on and off. Mostly felt in the morning when I wake. Going to check if Peter can do revision and Neurectomy if needed.

whats up brother @good-intentions long time no see… Was actually chatting with Dr.Billing a little while ago. In short, I was supposed to go back and have right side mesh removed as we had spoken back in January. I ended up going with Eduardo Parra-Davila here in West Palm beach since my insurance takes him. He removed right side mesh plus the left over small piece Dr.Billing had left behind on left side. I felt great days post surgery and boom sure enough.. The annoying burning/ discomfort in belly button is back. Right side mesh removal 100% pain free. Left side however well each morning when I wake up its pretty painful. Soreness like, when sitting for a while also tend to feel a bit of pressure. I had a CT scan done last week and waiting on Dr.Parra to review to rule out a recurrence or whatever is going on. I know I have about 50-60 pounds to lose so that is not helping my case. Good to see you are still active here in the forum.

Hey buddy, sure I shoot you an email tomorrow 🙂

Hi brother, to answer your question. I was never able to hear back from Belyanski when I reached out months ago and quite frankly got tired of waiting. Dr.Billings is a great person who really took my situation seriously instead of disregarding me and giving me the run around asking for 10 different tests. The reason why he was not able to remove both meshes on same day is because my mesh on the left side was very complicated. It had migrated and was tangled all over the place. I appreciate that he took his time to make sure one side was good instead of rushing to do both and get me out of the way to be honest. I also read @good-intentions posts regarding his experience about 20 times before making my decision and I do not regret it. When I talked to Dr.Billings via Zoom I knew at the end of the call that he was the guy.
My mesh removal was done robotically not via open incision or regular Lap.
